Urban Roots
Discover how food, community, and shared knowledge can transform cities. Urban Roots bring together learners, practitioners and local actors to reimagine sustainable urban life through collective learning and action.
Supported by EELISA, the Urban Roots Project aims to advance food sovereignty and community solidarity through collaborative, place-based learning on urban agriculture. In line with this aim, the program includes online thematic forums, a learning expedition in Madrid, an online atelier, and a field school in Istanbul — each designed with active stakeholder participation.

Our Team
Meet the team behind Urban Roots. We are a group of researchers, educators, civil society representatives, practitioners, and students working at the intersection of urban studies, circular economy, food systems, and social justice. Through collaborative learning, we aim to foster critical dialogue and collective action around urban agriculture and food solidarity.
