Online Forum

About the Event

This online forum explores how urban agriculture spaces are governed, shared, and negotiated, and how questions of power, equity, and participation shape urban food systems. Bringing together students, researchers, practitioners, and community members, the forum focuses on governance not only as policy, but as a lived and relational process.

Topics of Discussion

  • Governance models in urban agriculture (municipal, cooperative, grassroots, hybrid)

  • Power relations, inclusion, and exclusion in urban food spaces

  • Who owns, manages, and benefits from urban agriculture — and who is left out

  • Rights, responsibilities, and care in shared urban food spaces

  • And more!

Who Attended?

The second online forum was attended by students interested in urban studies, planning, governance, food systems, and social justice; researchers and professionals working on urban agriculture, policy, and community development; as well as practitioners engaged in local food initiatives.

What Did We Share?

During the second online forum, participants critically reflected on how urban food spaces are governed, imagined, and experienced. Through shared experiences and dialogue, the session contributed to collective learning around more just and inclusive urban food futures.
