Join Urban Roots’ immersive field school in Istanbul, a five-day, place-based learning experience exploring the social, ecological, and spatial dimensions of urban agriculture. Bringing together students, local stakeholders, and community members, the field school combines field immersion, creative collaboration, and collective reflection.
Through visits to community gardens, visual ethnography, co-design studios, and circularity challenges, participants engage with food sovereignty, neighborhood solidarity, and everyday urban practices. The program culminates in the co-creation of tangible outputs—including a Community Garden Manifesto of Maltepe and a short documentary—connecting academic learning with civic action and local knowledge.
As part of this collective process, the field school invites participants to rethink urban food systems as shared, resilient, and community-rooted spaces. Stay tuned for registration details!
