The Learning Expedition is a two-day, place-based activity designed to introduce students to the practical, social, and governance dimensions of urban food systems through field-based learning in Madrid.

Through curated field visits, structured urban walks, and collaborative challenges, students critically explore how food, waste, water, soil, and community intersect in diverse urban settings. The expedition brings together experiential learning, dialogue with local actors, and collective reflection to deepen understanding of food sovereignty, circularity, and urban resilience.
